NeuroStim Acupuncture

Excellent for neurological conditions and stroke rehabilitation

Service Description

Experience NeuroStim Acupuncture for various neurological conditions and stroke rehabilitation. This type of acupuncture is a therapeutic procedure that involves inserting needles into the scalp to treat various medical conditions, including pain and neurological and psychological disorders. For example, here's what a scientific research article wrote about acupuncture for Parkinson's Disease: "It has also been found that acupuncture can protect dopaminergic neurons from degeneration via antioxidative stress, anti-inflammatory, and antiapoptotic pathways as well as modulating the neurotransmitter balance in the basal ganglia circuit" (Zhao et al., 2021). Acupuncture has been used for post-stroke rehab for thousands of years. "Previous research studies reported that acupuncture enhanced stroke recovery through neurogenesis. Acupuncture may reduce brain edema and ameliorate neurological deficits. It has the best results particularly from day 7 to day 14 post-stroke. The earlier the patient is seen for treatment, the better the outcome and recovery process will be. Early acupuncture intervention may have better long-term effects on motor dysfunction and inflammation (Lu et al., 2016). "Acupuncture is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an alternative and complementary strategy for stroke treatment and for improving stroke care. Clinical trial and meta-analysis findings have demonstrated the efficacy of acupuncture in improving balance function, reducing spasticity, and increasing muscle strength and general well-being post-stroke...The evidence in this review indicates that five major different mechanisms are involved in the beneficial effects of acupuncture/EA on ischemic stroke rehabilitation: (1) Promotion of neurogenesis and cell proliferation in the central nervous system (CNS); (2) Regulation of cerebral blood flow in the ischemic area; (3) Anti-apoptosis in the ischemic area; (4) Regulation of neurochemicals; and, (5) Improvement of impaired long-term potentiation (LTP) and memory after stroke" (Chavez et al., 2017).
